The Colo River Cabin is tucked away on 25 acres of land just one and a quarter hours drive from the CBD of Sydney. Guests get the exclusive use of the Cabin and 400 metres of pristine Colo River waterfront. It would be difficult to find a more secluded spot in such close proximity to Sydney. The Cabin is a fully functional three bedroom house only 30metres from the Colo River. The Cabin has all the usual services but is set in a beautiful bush setting with lots to do such as: bushwalking, kayaking, fishing and swimming. There is even a wood fired bath, in a secluded location by the river so you can enjoy nature from the comfort of a warm bath.
There good bushwalking starting from the property that run for many kilometres. Explore the Moran Rocks area and check of the view of the Colo River Bridge from the top of the ridge.
The Colo is a haven for kayakers. There are many kilometres to explore both up and downstream with beautiful creeks on the way. The junction of the Hawkesbury is a 2-3 hour round trip for most paddlers.
The Colo river is famous for its bass fishing. Bass can be caught from the riverbanks on the property only 30 metres from the Cabin. Perhaps catch and cook your own on the BBQ for lunch?
Swim in the pristine Colo River. The Colo is fresh water and tidal at this point and is safe for all competent swimmers. The cabin comes with 400 metres of private riverbank and with a State Forest on the opposite bank you will have the river to yourself.
The Colo River valley has a long history. Prior to the coming of Europeans the local Dharug clans lived in the area. The Colo’s modern history starts only a few months after English settlement and the property’s history can be dated back to the early 1800’s.
You can be as active or as relaxed as you like. It is a perfect place for a family get away. It is a perfect place for a couple to get away from it or for a family to reconnect and get the kids off their devices.
